How the engraving works

Step 1 — Send a photo
A clear phone photo is enough. Portrait orientation, around 3:4, in JPG or PNG. It can be a person, a couple, or a pet. If you already have line art of your own, send that instead and we will work from it.

Step 2 — We draw it by hand
We redraw your photo as fine line art, because a laser cuts lines rather than shaded areas. We add the name and year you want beneath it, then email you the full layout.

Step 3 — You approve it
Nothing is cut until you reply to say it is right. If you want the drawing changed, say so and we redraw it at no cost. Take as long as you need at this step.

Step 4 — The laser cuts it into the metal
Once approved, the artwork is engraved into the anodized aluminium body. It is cut into the surface, not printed on it, so it will not wear off, peel or fade.

What is included
One engraving of up to 5 cm by 7.5 cm, covering the artwork plus a name and a date. The maker's marks already on the body are part of the product and stay as they are.

What works best
A face that fills a good part of the frame, in even light, with the eyes clearly visible. Group photos of more than two people lose detail at this size. Very dark or very blurry photos are hard to draw from, and we will tell you before we start if we think yours will not translate well.
